Liverpool Gains Injury Boosts Ahead of Crucial Clash with Manchester City

Liverpool is set to face Manchester City in a high-stakes showdown, and Jurgen Klopp’s squad seems to be receiving positive news on the injury front ahead of the clash. In preparation for the encounter that could have significant implications for the Premier League title race, several key players have returned to training.

The official Liverpool website confirmed on Thursday that Ibrahima Konate, Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones, and Joe Gomez participated in the latest training session at the AXA Training Centre in Kirkby.

Konate, who missed the previous match against Brentford, is on track for a return after a minor hamstring issue. His presence will be crucial alongside Virgil van Dijk in the heart of Liverpool’s defense.

Defender Gomez, who sat out the Brentford game with a knock, and the in-form Gravenberch, dealing with a small knee problem, are also in contention for the City clash.

Midfielder Jones, sidelined with a hamstring injury since the Carabao Cup win at Bournemouth in November, is making strides toward fitness and may feature against City.

Despite ongoing injury concerns, Liverpool received positive news as Kostas Tsimikas’ early return from international duty was not injury-related. However, Klopp will miss Andy Robertson, who is recovering from shoulder surgery, with Tsimikas expected to fill in at left-back.

In addition to the returning quartet, Liverpool’s South American internationals—Alisson Becker, Luis Diaz, Darwin Nunez, and Alexis Mac Allister—were also back in training.

Meanwhile, Manchester City faces injury challenges, with Erling Haaland’s fitness uncertain after an ankle injury, and several key players, including Kevin De Bruyne and John Stones, still unavailable for the crucial encounter.
