Shweta Sharda Stuns in Armoured Goddess Look at Miss Universe National Costume Competition

Representing India at the 72nd Miss Universe in El Salvador, Shweta Sharda made a statement at the National Costume competition with her unique ensemble. Wearing a regal embroidered blouse paired with a heavily embellished traditional skirt, Shweta exuded vintage glam. The outfit, designed by Nidhi Yasha, showcased an “armoured goddess look” with peacock-inspired embroidery, symbolizing a resilient India weathering storms.

Adding to the allure, Shweta adorned herself with an ornate golden headgear resembling a lotus halo. The lower half featured a mystical golden peacock, India’s national bird, with handcrafted peacock feather embroidery. The caption for Shweta’s Instagram photos emphasized the outfit’s representation of a new, powerful India, embodying diversity, integrity, strength, and resilience.

The designer intentionally created a contrast between the fluid Organza skirt and a structured upper body, symbolizing India’s ability to thrive in beautiful contrasts and balances. Shweta Sharda, a 22-year-old model and dancer born in Chandigarh, moved to Mumbai at 16. She has participated in reality shows like DID, Dance Deewane, and Dance+, also being a choreographer on Jhalak Dikhlaja. Raised by her single mother, whom she considers the most influential person in her life, Shweta brings a blend of talent and grace to the Miss Universe stage.

The eagerly anticipated 72nd Miss Universe final is scheduled to take place in El Salvador on November 19. Shweta Sharda’s captivating National Costume has undoubtedly added an extra layer of excitement to India’s representation in this prestigious global event.
