Gucci’s Creative Director Unveils “Ancora Notte” Evening Wear Collection

A mere month after his remarkable Gucci debut, creative director Sabato de Sarno has shed further light on his vision for the renowned Florentine fashion house. De Sarno’s inaugural evening wear collection, named ‘Ancora Notte,’ was presented over the weekend, marking a pivotal moment for the iconic brand.

Gucci described the 12-piece ‘Ancora Notte’ line as “an ode to life after dark.” De Sarno’s designs for the evening dresses, much like his initial debut, draw inspiration from Gucci’s 90s archives, bridging the past with the present.

This collection introduces a fresh take on evening attire, featuring cutouts interwoven with Gucci’s distinctive “double G” logo. The designs encompass a range of styles, including micro shorts, slip dresses, and dazzling gowns. The overarching message is to prompt individuals to reconsider the boundaries between evening and everyday fashion, emphasizing that it’s all about how you interpret and wear the attire.

The grand stage for the unveiling of this eveningwear collection was the illustrious red carpet of the 2023 LACMA Art+Film Gala held on Saturday. Gucci went beyond just dressing celebrities and models in its latest creations; the fashion house also assumed the role of the event’s primary sponsor.

This presentation underscores Gucci’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of fashion and redefining the rules of style. Sabato de Sarno’s “Ancora Notte” collection serves as a testament to his creative prowess and the brand’s enduring legacy, blending nostalgia with modernity on the prestigious LACMA red carpet.
